The clinic Emma couldn't find, so she built it

Emma Thwaite has been skin-obsessed for as long as she can remember. The turn it took toward a career came in her early twenties, through a stretch of debilitating acne that taught her how much your skin can run the show, how you feel walking into a room and whether you meet someone's eye. 

That experience sent her looking for answers and never really let her go.

Her first years were spent in high-end spas in Canada, learning how a treatment can relax you right down to the bone. Back in Australia, she went looking for the other half of the picture. She wanted science. Lasers, long-term skin change, the clinical side of the work.

A training course in New Zealand rearranged everything. The room was full of therapists who lived and breathed skin health, fluent in how skin truly functions. That was where Emma started learning about the barrier, essential fatty acids and treating skin as a working organ rather than a surface to polish.

At the time, she was working in a clinic built on laser hair removal, peels and microdermabrasion. Clients came in month after month for the same thing. Their skin would look good for a week or so, then slide back to square one, because nothing was being done for the barrier or what was happening underneath. She came home from that course knowing she couldn't treat skin that way again.

So she went looking for a clinic that did both: the deep relaxation she loved, and the clinical results she now knew were possible. Nowhere did both. She realised she'd have to build it herself. With Grace Skin Management opened in Collingwood in 2018.

With Grace is a haven where you can genuinely switch off, run by people who know skin inside and out, where we respect the barrier and treat the causes rather than only the surface.

It shapes the whole menu, too. On one side, some of the most advanced aesthetic technologies in the industry. On the other, the high-touch, indulgent treatments that go to work on your skin while you do nothing but lie there and let go. Most clinics pick a lane. We never saw the point in choosing.

The same standard runs through the team. Your With Grace skin therapists are deeply qualified and genuinely warm, and Emma, more than two decades in, still gets a genuine kick when clients fall asleep at her touch. She trained in NeoLifting© in Paris, the intra-oral technique behind our sculpting work, and is qualified in oncology esthetics, so clients undergoing cancer treatment can be safely looked after by someone who understands skin that's doing it tough.
